Date Released: 8 December 2025Happy news! We are delighted to share that Dr. Bashir Alao has been officially conferred with the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) by the University of Galway, marking the successful completion of an important and inspiring academic journey.
This milestone represents years of intellectual dedication, critical inquiry and sustained commitment to research and learning. In his own words, Bashir described this achievement as “a new feather in the cap and a lifetime of gratitude”, acknowledging the many people who supported him throughout his doctoral journey.
During his PhD, Bashir was a Hardiman Research Scholar and an active member of the Discipline of Management at the J.E. Cairnes School of Business & Economics. His work was characterised by strong scholarly engagement, collaborative spirit, and a deep appreciation for mentorship and academic community.
Bashir expressed special thanks to his supervisors, colleagues, friends and family — the “village” that made this achievement possible — emphasising that this doctorate was not a solitary endeavour, but a collective accomplishment built on support, trust and shared commitment.
Colleagues across the University and beyond have warmly congratulated Dr. Alao on this milestone, recognising both his academic contribution and his personal qualities as a thoughtful, dedicated and generous scholar.
