Amy Blaney

After graduating with a BA in Irish & History at NUIG, I pursued an MA in Journalism. The course’s practical focus built my multimedia portfolio across print, radio, TV & online, while experienced journalists shared invaluable insights and guidance. NUIG’s facilities, including a 4K TV & radio studio, sharpened my broadcasting skills. Managing “The Galway Pulse” gave me real newsroom experience, & highlights included reporting in Strasbourg & working with RTÉ. The MA boosted my career, leading to roles in the European Parliament & now the Irish Independent.
