Knowledge Veiled: Glosses, False Etymologies, and Riddles as Epistemic Filters in the Early Medieval Insular World (c. 800–1100)

This project focuses on three textual forms that shape and reflect early medieval strategies of controlling knowledge: glosses, false etymologies, and riddles.

This research is a component of the Research Ireland Pathway project Connect 4, directed by Dr Ciaran Arthur.
