VHI Health Insurance:

  • The VHI Group Scheme operates annually from April to March.
  • Employees are kindly reminded that they are responsible for ensuring their VHI salary deductions are accurate.
  • Any queries or corrections relating to deductions should be directed to VHI, as the Payroll Office can only process the deductions and is not in a position to amend or advise on VHI‑related matters.
  • To set up payroll deductions, please:
    • Email payroll@universityofgalway.ie to request the VHI Group Scheme Number, and then
    • Contact VHI to complete the setup.
  • All policy changes—including requests to amend or stop salary deductions—must be communicated directly to VHI.
  • Employees taking unpaid leave must contact VHI to arrange an alternative payment method.

St. Anthony's Credit Union:

Any amendments or request for a deduction to be commenced must be informed by the employee to the Credit Union directly:

Charities / Foundations

Please complete Charity Contribution Authorisation Form and email it to payroll@universityofgalway.ie if you wish to contribute or make amendments for deductions to the following: 

  1.  Galway Hospice Foundation
    • You can request payroll to commence a deduction from your salary for the Galway Hospice Weekly draw
    • You will be deducted €1.27 per week or €5.51 per month from your salary.
