Trellix for Windows

All users of computer facilities on the University of Galway network have a responsibility to follow best practice in avoiding infection by computer viruses, whether you are using University-owned or privately owned equipment.

Installing Trellix (formally McAfee VirusScan) 

Suitable for Windows 10  

  1. Download the Installation File Here 
    • Click on the provided link. 
    • Sign in with your UoG email account. 
  2. Log into your account: 
    • You will be prompted to log in. 
  3. Download the installation file: 
    • Click on "Download" to start the download. 
  4. Unzip the downloaded .zip file: 
    • Unzip the files onto your computer. 
  5. Install Trellix Endpoint Security: 
    • Open the location where you unzipped the file. 
    • Double-click on "SetupEP.exe". 
    • Follow the onscreen instructions. 
  6. Finish the installation: 
    • Click "Finish" once the installation is complete.
