Galway Exams 101 

This programme of exam supports has been designed to help you prepare for your upcoming assignments and exams. Galway Exams 101 covers a range of themes and offers Library Workshops, Podcasts an Exams Webinar, and online resources to ensure you have everything you need ahead of semester one exams. 

The Semester 2 examination session will run from Monday December 8th to Friday December 19th 2025. Exam timetables will be released on Thursday November 13th at 12pm. You can find a link to your exam timetable here. Check the amendments webpage regularly as examination dates/times may change up to the day of your exam.

Freshers' Point - First Years Supported Study - Wed 5 & Thurs 6 November

First years, if you are looking for a quiet space to study you can drop-in to Freshers' Point where our student facilitators will be available for supported study sessions. FREE tea, coffee and pastries will be available!

  • Create an EndNote library
  • Export records from the library catalogue and key databases

FYI: First Year In: An essential open educational textbook created by the Academic Skills Team in the library to equip newcomers to the university library with critical skills for academic success. It provides a comprehensive introduction to the process of finding, using and managing reliable information sources. It emphasises the importance of evaluating sources and offers practical guidance on finding information for assignments, academic integrity and getting the most out of the library.

Academic Supports

The Library Academic Skills Desk is open Monday - Friday from 10-1pm for drop ins, no need to book. Alternatively you can book a one to one appointment on this link. They can help you with finding databases, locating articles and books, evaluating information, citing and referencing, using Endnote and searching the literature for literature reviews.
