Advancing Race Equality at University of Galway

Dr Tanja Kovačič, Prisca Chipao and Anne Marie Stokes, are the EDI Race Equality Advisors who work in partnership with colleagues and students to advance race equality across the University. The Advisors are available to meet with staff and students in a confidential setting to provide guidance, support, and advice. The EDI Race Equality Advisors:

• Confidential support for staff and students who experience racism, microaggressions, or discrimination.
• A safe, non-judgmental space to be heard.
• Representation and advocacy where appropriate, ensuring voices are included in decision-making.
• Awareness and training, engaging with staff and students to promote race equality.
• Contribution to University-wide equality and inclusion initiatives, helping to create an environment where everyone can thrive.
