Overview
This module provides a comprehensive approach to recognising and managing acute deterioration in patients across a range of critical conditions. Students will develop essential skills in holistic and systematic patient assessment, prioritising care, and implementing effective interventions.
Entry Requirements
Applicants must be over 21 years and be registered general nurses working in primary acute care settings. Students must have a letter from the Director of Nursing stating that they will be supported during the module.
What you will Learn
This module is designed for registered nurses working in acute care settings who are looking to enhance their clinical knowledge and expand their skills in the assessment and management of acutely unwell patients. It is ideal for graduate nurses seeking to build expertise in critical care areas, including respiratory, cardiovascular, neurological, renal, and metabolic emergencies. This course is particularly relevant for those aiming to develop their clinical decision-making, advanced monitoring, and intervention skills in a fast-paced acute care environment.
Course Outcomes
On successful completion of this micro-credential, you will receive credits as per the European Credit and Transfer System. These credits are recognised by the awarding institution as credits aligned to learning completed at postgraduate level 9.
