In 2025, Ancient Classics was one of the highest-ranked subjects in the University of Galway, according to the QS Subject Rankings. We ranked 51–150 for Classics & Ancient History in the world and joint first in Ireland.

Undergraduate Classics

Ancient Classics is available as a subject in the BA degree at the University of Galway, either for first year only or continuing as one of your two main subjects in second and final year.

For enquiries or concerns about individual modules, students are encouraged to approach relevant module leader (the person who teaches this class) at the end of each class.

Academic staff also hold in-person consultation hours during the semester and students can drop-in to discuss any issues during these times.
