Dr. Tiba Bonyad Awarded NUI Grant for Early Career Academics
We are delighted to share that Dr Tiba Bonyad, Postdoctoral Researcher on the BILQIS Project, has been awarded funding through the NUI Grant Scheme for Early Career Academics 2025.
The grant will support her planned event, Radical Imaginations: Rethinking Gender Justice in the Middle East and North Africa, to be hosted at the University of Galway. Bringing together scholars and practitioners, the event will open new conversations on gender justice in the MENA region, connecting questions of law, lived experience, and social change.
The Selection Panel commended the strength of the proposal and confirmed support for the event through NUI’s social media and website. Activities funded by the scheme are to be completed by December 2026.
This award reflects both the excellence of Tiba’s research and her commitment to building collaborative spaces for critical debate. The BILQIS team warmly congratulates her on this achievement and looks forward to the insights and dialogue her event will bring.
