Cumann Caoga Bliain - 50 Year Reunion 11 June 2025
50 Year Reunion, Wednesday 11 June, 2025
To celebrate this special milestone, the University invites you to return to your alma mater on Wednesday, 11th of June. The festivities will begin at 11 AM with a welcome reception.
We very much look forward to welcoming you back to your alma mater for the Cumann Caoga Bliain – 50 Year Reunion.
Please find below the schedule for the day:
11:00 am – Welcome Reception in the O’Donoghue Centre (see location details below)
11:30 am – Introduction by Julie Stafford, Director of Development & Alumni Relations, followed by remarks from Professor Peter McHugh, Interim President.
11:50 am – Group walk to the Aula Maxima.
12:00 pm – Group and class photographs outside the Aula Maxima.
12:15 – 1:15 pm – Campus and Archives Tours.
Guests will be divided into three groups, rotating between a walking tour of the campus and a visit to the Library Archives.
1:15 pm – Buffet Lunch at Sult College Bar, including dessert, tea/coffee and a voucher for a complimentary drink at the bar.
3:00 pm – Event concludes.
Venue and Access Information:
The O'Donoghue Centre for Drama, Theatre and Performance is located beside Áras na Mac Léinn and the Bailey Allen Hall.
Parking:
On-campus parking is limited, with Pay & Display spaces marked by blue lines; please ensure your ticket is clearly displayed.
Additional parking is available at Galway Cathedral car park and outside the cathedral at the Galway City car park, both approximately a five-minute walk from the O'Donoghue Centre. If parking at either Cathedral car parks, please enter the University via the Fisheries Field entrance for easier access and cross the O’Shaughnessy Bridge. The O’Donoghue Centre is immediately beyond the bridge, adjacent to Áras na Mac Léinn and Bailey Allen Hall.
Public Transport:
Galway city bus route 405 stops at the University entrance, a few minutes walk from the O'Donoghue Centre.
